Role Purpose:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Corporate & Compliance Lawyer with strong expertise in corporate law, regulatory compliance, and relevant statutory frameworks to provide advanced corporate advisory and regulatory compliance support to both local and international clients. The role demands strong competence in business structuring, compliance requirements, incorporation, post-incorporation management, and sector-specific regulatory guidance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Advise local and foreign clients on appropriate business structures across multiple industries.
- Provide high-level guidance on regulatory frameworks, compliance obligations, and sector-specific requirements.
- Communicate confidently with foreign investors regarding Nigerian corporate processes and legal expectations.
- Manage complex pre- and post-incorporation processes with minimal supervision.
- Handle CAC filings, queries, restructuring, conversions, and compliance submissions.
- Ensure all filings, documentation, and supporting materials are timely, organised, and error-free.
- Coordinate seamlessly within a structured environment to maintain high professional standards.
- Guide clients through compliance requirements with FIRS, SCUML, sector licensing bodies, and related regulators.
- Manage requirements for TIN registration, sector permits, SME frameworks, and other statutory obligations.
- Interpret regulatory obligations and break them down into simple, actionable guidance for clients.
- Ensure strict accuracy and alignment between client needs and regulatory expectations.
- Deliver exceptional client-facing communication that reflects a premium brand tone.
- Maintain maturity, organisation, and thorough documentation across engagements.
- Provide independent problem-solving, proactive follow-up, and quality assurance in all tasks.
- Support internal coordination to uphold the firm’s standards of professionalism and compliance excellence.
Requirements:
- 5–7 years post-call experience in corporate/commercial practice.
- Strong competence in CAC processes (pre- and post-incorporation).
- Demonstrated experience in corporate advisory and regulatory compliance.
- Excellent writing, research, and client-facing communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and maintain accuracy under pressure.
