Role Purpose:
We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Accountant to manage and maintain accurate financial records and support the finance team. The ideal candidate will bring a proactive work ethic and a collaborative mindset to contribute to our financial operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, ledgers, and supporting documentation.
- Process and verify invoices, receipts, payments, and journal entries promptly.
- Reconcile bank statements, company accounts, and client transactions to ensure accuracy.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and statements.
- Monitor accounts payable and receivable to ensure timely settlement and follow-up.
- Support budget preparation, cash flow forecasting, and expense tracking activities.
- Liaise with external auditors, tax authorities, and financial institutions to facilitate audits, tax filings, and compliance matters.
- Ensure all financial activities comply with relevant accounting standards, statutory regulations, and internal policies.
- Contribute to process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial operations.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 3 years of relevant work experience (preferably in a corporate setting)
- Professional certification (ICAN, ACCA) is an added advantage
- Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage) and Microsoft Excel
- Strong numerical and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
