The Next Economy Employability Skills Program

Introduction

Elevation Craft was engaged by an international development organization, SOS Children’s Villages Nigeria, to deploy the Next Economy Employability Skills Training in Abuja – Nigeria. During the three-year partnership, from 2021 to 2023, Elevation Craft over 500 Nigerian youth in 5 cohorts. 

The Next Economy is a program that empowers youth in Nigeria, Mali, Somaliland, Somalia to unleash their talents, build their confidence and hone the skills they need for a successful career in a job or as an entrepreneur. The Next Economy is an initiative of SOS Children’s Villages, Crosswise Works and GoodUp. The programme is made possible by the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Achievements

  • Over 500 youths trained
  • Over 400 hours of technical and soft skills training
  • About 50% of the TNE Alumni were placed on internship placements or full-time jobs
